Your kindness as sweet as cake
Your heart as pure as gold
Your love for us is like diamonds
Your books as old as history
You mold the world with knowledge
But you are the most important person of all
You are a teacher.
I drank her silence like liqour
And it destroyed me the same
I spun like clocks
And she swirled like stars

The wind smelled of her hair
The earth dressed with the
Scent of her winter skin

I began to find her in everything-
The rain
The trees
The stars
The moon
It all shrieked her name

She had lips like salvation
And grace like eyes

This made the stars grow jealous
Of the way she danced.

We are an unfinished masterpiece
an unsung song
piano keys that have not been touchedby fingertips
food that has not been eaten
clothes that have not been worn
sheets that have not been slept in
books that have not been read
we are all this waiting to be
all it could be.

A poem from Juliet's perspective

O Romeo, Romeo!
I shouldn't love you dear Romeo
For our families might not understand,
Because they are blinded with their hate towards eachother
But -
When I found you at my darkest hour
And your light
Shining bright
I will never forget that magnificent light
And the moment I met you
That extraordinary night!
I impatiently wait for the day
That I don't have to see you go away
You are my one true love and best friend
My soul mate and companion to the end.
Together forever is how we'll be now
In death at least we can be united as one.

A poetic response to "The Metaphor" by Budge Wilson

Charlotte's Poem

Miss Hancock
Was a type of woman
Who was like a rose ,
She was unique and vibrant.

Possessing certain wonderful traits
Such as elegance and beauty,
Yet strong and mysterious .

She was passionate about English and literature,
And she believed that
I had a gift that nobody recognized .

Her classroom was filled with life and enthusiasm.
She was like a diamond
In the rough.

There was something about her,
A spark
That lit up the whole classroom as
She walked in.

But that spark died when she stopped
Walking this earth.

Creative Poetic Response to "the Sound of Hollyhocks" by Hugh Garner

Finding Serenity

Some people say,
The person who makes you feel happiness
Is the person they believe makes them complete.
The one who would stand by your side
When facing defeat.

Before Sandra left me she said she loved me ,
But with that overwhelming look in her eye
I could tell it was a cold
Hearted lie.
I felt so rejected , alone and sad.
Afraid of everything that was revolving
Around me.

After the Bitch of Belsen took me away
Into her world of judgement and rowdiness,
I couldn't seek comfort and peace of mind,
I felt that I was going insane.
Until the beautifully coloured Hollyhocks in the garden
Started whispering to me.

Suddenly, It was then that the flowers
were the only ones that could understand me
and tell me what I wanted to
hear .
